Improves firing conditions while efficiently removing harmful and unpleasant fumes. Provides an oxidizing atmosphere for true reds and other colors. Eliminates hot and cold spots while removing fumes, including carbon monoxide. Downdraft ventilation draws a small amount of air through the kiln to pull out fumes and odors. Kiln vent reduces cool down time, eliminating lid-propping and manual venting.
Installs into most kiln stands having at least a 12" x 12" opening and a 9" stand height. Mounting plates are 18" x 18" (457 x 457mm) or 24" x 24" (609 x 609 mm).
How it works: Small holes are drilled in the kiln lid to permit air to enter. Air is drawn through the kiln as fumes and odors leave through the bottom of the kiln where additional small holes are drilled in the base to provide access to the blower unit below. Air can be vented outdoors through residential dryer exhaust duct (not included).
For use with most top loading kilns. The 18” version services 7 & 3.3 cu ft kilns. The 24” services 10 cu ft kilns. 115 volts, 1.1 amps. |
