Art Clay Gold is a water-based gold clay that can be modeled in the same way as the other clay series. When fired in the kiln, the organic binders burn off, transforming to high quality 22-Karat gold.
Make easy, free-form pieces with Art Clay Gold that would be difficult to make using traditional techniques. Fires at 1804 degF / 990 degC for 60 minutes if used alone. However, if made into paste and painted (3 coats) over silver art clay, it will fire at 1470 degF for 30 minutes to create a gold capped piece. It contracts about 15% during the firing process.
