The wisteria vine, native to North America and incomparably ornamental, is one of the best-known and cherished Tiffany designs. Individual blossoms within each cluster mature at different times, lower blossoms open and mature earlier than those higher on the cluster, and adjoing clusters may mature at different times. This diversity allows the craftsperson endless possibilities for subtle, definite color combinations to exist between flower clusters.
This lamp is a reproduction of original Wisteria Tiffany lamps as shown in Dr. Neustadt's book "The Lamps of Tiffany".
The 18" Wisteria lamp has over 2000 pieces but there are no real difficult parts to cut out. We suggest that only Tiffany style glass be used and that a study of should be made of Wisteria lamps to determine the colors and types of glass to purchase for this lamp.
