Duraboard is a rigid, high temperature board that can be used in place of a ceramic kiln shelf. It withstands temperatures up to 2300 degF.
Duraboard saws easily, making it handy for fitting kiln interiors or for a drop-out mold. It contains an organic binder which burns off from 350-1000 degF. Requires no shelf primer if used at slumping or painting temperatures under 1200°F.
Sheet size: 24" x 24". Coat both sides with alumina rigidizer hardener (recommended). |
