Developed for Loren Stump, renowned glass sculptor, it is used to vacuum encase small glass sculptures for beads, buttons, paperweights, etc.
It consists of a perforated graphite disk over which the sculpture is placed. This in turn is placed in a 2-inch graphite cup with a tube through which the vacuum is drawn. A glass glob, heated to a soft state, is placed over the sculpture.
Advanced lampworking skill is a requisite. Shown with optional hose set with filter. |
